@Little-Rena I honestly think the obvious technical solution is no comments (as you said) and the awards being one day behind. That would prevent all reactive action.

No bet. You are being too theatrical about it. This shit won't even make the P-Bot blink. Watch, within this week the thread will be unlocked and the submission will either be replaced or people will just treat it as a minor fuck-up and forget about it. I fully beleave that yes, some of the stuff that gets awards are fully worthy of critisism sutch as softcore porn. And im not fond of reely short 1-10sec loops getting awards as well. And i do understand why there are discussion about this. I do like the idea of AnnonFrog making a review of the winners. Its not perfect (there has been some errors) but i like the idea. I also understand ppl who issnt fond of AnnonFrog’s critique cuz its not fun to say that someone who won somthing diddnt deserve it. But no matter what side you are on i beleave that this argumenting is getting too far and both parties are slowly killing the awards.
MAYBE under the idea that this gets issued with the LGBTQ community on twitter, given that the ex-5th place is a gay movie for once, so it may attract WAY more trouble than usual. But... nah. Possible solutions is permanently blocking all the P-bot discussion threads (bad ending), but I don't think it should be taken away. It's literally the ONLY thing that the little guys have to aim towards on this site, before they get good and make movies worth frontpaging.

I don't really think the same few individuals having the same e-slapfight every single day is going to have much of an effect on anything, it's pretty basic forum activity actually. Maybe they'll finally realize their feelings for each other and passionately smooch under the moonlight, but that's it.

@L3M0NG3N1S1S Daily Picks are basically the top 5 movies/games of the day. P-Bot is just the user (who is just a bot) that posts the daily picks. Sometimes people don't like certain animations from the top 5 which leads into arguments. the arguments have happened, a lot of times. like a lot. the daily pick forum post for today has been locked which has never happened for lots of years or probably ever. this led to people thinking that daily awards will cease to exist.

No worries. Anon Frog has held court giving his own rankings in the threads for going on 17 days now. I don't see why the mods don't just make it official and make them a link to his news posts.
