you gave the skateboard believable weight and momentum, that couldn't have been easy to pull off.

I actually thought this was stop motion for the first 20 seconds or so, whether or not that was intentional I think it was caused by animating on 2s

I would be more careful with that, usually when you have forground elements going at a different framerate to the background scrolling it will cause an ugly stuttering effect, it didn't really happen here because your background was so simplistic

very good use of sound design too

sorry about how unorganized this review is lol

brintc responds:

thank you so much! appreciate the feedback! I tried to do a stop motion style animation, and it was tricky to do keep it consistent, especially when there were a lot of camera movements in some of the shots. seeing it's my first proper animation in blender, it's definitely not close to being perfect

was modelling the ass really necessary?

nokoi responds:

yes.

pretty cool, not a big fan of the constant shaking, and it's obviously not complete, but I could see this being very cool once finished!

StuffIdrew responds:

I did it on scrap pieces of paper and not one was the same size as the other so I have to like painstakingly crop and center each frame and this I'm just going to start from scratch with pieces all the same size lol

your backgrounds have too much going on and it blends in with the foreground animation at times

Twoeliz responds:

Indeed, in this case it should work well for the creatures as camouflage but if you are also referring to my other recent animations, then just be aware that it is simply a color challenge. Future animations will have more varied colors as they won't be limited on a spesific color pallet or theme.

loud =/= funny

LazzlosDumbAndStuff responds:

I'm sorry you feel that way

very cool use of perspective

bitsky responds:

Thank you!

pretty good action at times, you have to be more conscious of weight while animating, a lot if the impacts don't feel very.... impactful, the kick for example, the leg needs to accelerate more, meaning more frames as it begins moving, and less frames after it gets going. Also squash and stretch, when she lands on the ground after breaking the through the window she should squash down slightly for a frame. There's also not much use of anticipation, you should be leading action be first going in the opposite direction, an example being the leg 19 seconds in, if it moved left before going right offscreen, the audience would be able to tell, the way it is now isn't well directed, though the dust clouds are a nice touch. Oh yeah and that run cycle is one of the worst I've seen. Anyway, despite my criticisms, definietely keep animating, Alan Becker has a set of tutorials on the basic principles of animation, and there's also Richard Willliams' book

BaconBob9000 responds:

The problem I have with this one was I chose to do draw on the slides themselves while my older animations were done on sketch pad then I just transferred it the animation program and either traced them into the slides or just animate them the way they were.

Also thanks for critique

could've used some shading or something, there's a few moments in there that just look like an indescipherable mess of lines. Great action tho

Tilacus-X responds:

Thank you very much for the feedback! I will take note of that :3

too many frames in a lot of places makes the movements sluggish, also no real anticipation in the axe swing makes it lose a lot of its impact, there should always be an anticipation or "wind-up" before the action happens

Chaos-Insurgency responds:

Ok, i will try to make my animations better
